Children's art

I love doing art with my class. We had been looking at the work of Picasso and the children were really amused by the faces. We also watched a digital stoy of Picasso's work which the children thoroughly enjoyed. This is found at http://digitalstorytelling.coe.uh.edu/art.html
The art was done first in pencil so that anything they didn't like could be erased. They then udes a permanent marker to go over their lines. The final stage was to use coloured dye to give the faces their colour. I found that cotton buds were an ideal tool to do teh dyeing as they were small and easy for the children to manage. I was really pleased with the children's effort and they were proud to show their work at the school assembly.

Cluster meeting March 2010

We looked at some ideas for doing an action research. As I was late arriving, and had missed over an hour of the meeting, it was a bit difficult to get my thinking straight and catch up with what we had to do. I think Lyndal and I will have to get together with Belinda to work on our research topic to see whether it will work.

We also discussed the ways we could group students for discussion or working teams.
