I love doing art with my class. We had been looking at the work of Picasso and the children were really amused by the faces. We also watched a digital stoy of Picasso's work which the children thoroughly enjoyed. This is found at http://digitalstorytelling.coe.uh.edu/art.html
The art was done first in pencil so that anything they didn't like could be erased. They then udes a permanent marker to go over their lines. The final stage was to use coloured dye to give the faces their colour. I found that cotton buds were an ideal tool to do teh dyeing as they were small and easy for the children to manage. I was really pleased with the children's effort and they were proud to show their work at the school assembly.
